Description

Coated VICRYL RAPIDE™ Suture, Size 3-0, 36", Braided, is a synthetic absorbable suture composed of Polyglactin 910, a copolymer of 90% glycolide and 10% L-lactide. It is designed to offer rapid absorption and reliable performance in procedures requiring short-term wound support. The suture is coated for improved handling, smoother tissue passage, and secure knot placement.

Coated VICRYL RAPIDE™ is ideal for use in superficial soft tissue approximation where minimal wound support is sufficient. Common indications include skin closure, mucosal suturing, episiotomies, and pediatric procedures. The low tissue reactivity reduces inflammation compared to traditional chromic gut sutures.

The braided structure provides excellent pliability and handling characteristics. This suture is not suitable for internal tissues requiring prolonged tensile strength or use in cardiovascular, ophthalmic, or neurological applications due to its rapid loss of strength and complete absorption profile.
