Description

Ethibond Excel Suture, UCL, Size 2/0, Green, 27" is a sterile, nonabsorbable surgical suture composed of braided polyester fibers. The suture is coated with a polybutilate compound that enhances its handling characteristics. This coating acts as a lubricant, reducing tissue drag and improving knot security while maintaining minimal tissue reactivity. 

The suture features a taper point needle, which is designed to penetrate and spread tissue fibers without cutting them. This needle type is particularly effective for soft tissue approximation where minimal trauma is required. The combination of a strong polyester core and a smooth taper point needle ensures precision and reliability in diverse surgical applications.

The braided construction of the suture provides excellent pliability and flexibility, allowing for consistent handling and ease of knot tying. The adherence of the coating to the suture surface enhances physical properties and reduces the risk of fraying or breakage.

A nonabsorbable, braided, sterile, surgical suture composed of Poly (ethylene, terephthalate). It is prepared from fibers of high molecular weight, long-chain, linear polyesters having recurrent aromatic rings as an integral component. It is uniformly coated with polybutilate or poly {oxy-1, 4 butanediyloxy (1, 6-dioxo-1, 6 hexanediyl)}. The highly adherent coating is a relatively nonreactive nonabsorbable compound which acts as a lubricant to mechanically improve the physical p roperties of the uncoated suture by improving handling qualities as contrasted to the braided, uncoated fiber. The suture is braided for optimal handling properties, and dyed green for enhanced visibility in the surgical field.
