Coated Vicryl Plus Antibacterial Suture, Undyed Braided, Size 5-0, 27" is an absorbable surgical suture designed for secure wound closure. It consists of Polyglactin 910, a synthetic copolymer that ensures controlled absorption. The undyed braided structure enhances handling and knot security while minimizing tissue drag. The suture features an RB-1 Taper Point needle, which facilitates smooth penetration through delicate tissue, reducing trauma.

This suture retains approximately 50% of its tensile strength at two weeks and 20% at three weeks, ensuring adequate wound support during the critical healing period. Complete absorption occurs between 56 to 70 days via hydrolysis, leaving no residual material in the body. The uniform coating enhances pliability, ensuring easy handling and knot tying.

The RB-1 needle is 17 mm in length and has a 1/2 circle taper point design, making it suitable for delicate tissue approximation. The suture is widely used in soft tissue approximation and ligation, particularly in gynecological, gastrointestinal, and pediatric procedures. It is not recommended for cardiovascular or neurological applications.
