Moxifloxacin 0.5% Ophthalmic Solution is a sterile, preservative-free antibiotic eye drop used for the treatment of bacterial conjunctivitis and other infections caused by susceptible strains of bacteria. The mechanism of action involves inhibition of bacterial DNA gyrase and topoisomerase IV, enzymes critical for DNA replication, repair, and transcription, leading to the death of the bacterial cells.

The solution is formulated as 0.5% w/v moxifloxacin in a clear, aqueous base. It is designed for topical ophthalmic use and is supplied in a 3 mL dropper bottle for easy application. Its broad-spectrum antibacterial activity makes it effective against Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria, including resistant strains.
