The Valleylab REM™ PolyHesive™ Cordless Patient Return Electrodes are designed to provide efficient and safe patient grounding during electrosurgical procedures. These electrodes utilize PolyHesive™ II hydrogel, a high-moisture conductive adhesive that effectively lowers skin resistance. This advanced adhesive technology ensures optimal electrical contact by conforming to irregularities in the skin, reducing impedance, and enhancing conductivity.
The electrode features a large surface area, which facilitates even distribution of electrical current, minimizing heat buildup and reducing the risk of thermal injury to the patient. This design enhances patient safety by preventing localized hot spots, which can cause burns during electrosurgical applications. The acrylic adhesive backing further improves pad contact quality.
Equipped with Valleylab's REM™ (Return Electrode Monitoring) contact quality monitoring system, these electrodes continuously monitor the quality of the pad-to-skin interface. This feature provides real-time feedback to electrosurgical units, allowing for immediate detection of compromised contact, thereby reducing the risk of burns or unintended interruptions in energy delivery.
