It is pre-filled with a clot activator that accelerates the coagulation process, enabling efficient serum extraction.

The tube includes a gel separator that forms a stable barrier between the serum and cellular components after centrifugation. This separation improves specimen quality and ensures more accurate analytical results. The non-ridged tube design offers smooth handling during collection and processing while maintaining compatibility with automated analyzers.

Manufactured from durable, medical-grade plastic, the tube ensures leak-proof performance and is resistant to breakage. The interior surface is coated with a silicone layer to minimize hemolysis and improve blood flow during collection. The integrated color-coded cap allows for easy identification and workflow standardization in laboratory settings

Tubes are designed for routine use in immunohematology testing and viral marker testing in screening and clinical laboratories. Gel forms stable barrier between serum and blood cells. The inner wall of each serum tube is coated with microscopic silica particles which activate the coagulation process when tubes are inverted. Tubes equipped with a gel separator contain a barrier gel in the base of the tube. These tubes are particularly effective in therapeutic drug monitoring testing. Standard tubes are also available with no additive. VACUETTE tubes are manufactured from virtually unbreakable PET plastic. These clear tubes are supplied with non-ridged pull caps that feature an exterior color-coded ring to indicate either the additive used or draw volume. A black ring indicates standard tubes, a yellow/gold ring indicates the inclusion of a separation gel, and a white ring indicates a tube designed to accommodate pediatric draw.
